Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival - Bali - Canggu

Day 2: Cangu – Stay
We stay here for 1 more day to recover from the long journey.
Canggu is a cozy place where you can go to the beach or walk around the center.
Day 3: Canggu - Munduk
After a good night’s sleep and breakfast, we pick up the bikes. We will ride towards Tabanan, travelling through small country roads/paths and various Hindu kampung (villages which are unknown to the larger public. While playing on our motorbike we ride through the “Jungle Forrest” and enjoy breathtaking views until Munduk. This town is located in the Buleleng Regency mountains, where we stay in a pleasant hotel with a swimming pool and magnificent views over the various mountain peaks and green valleys filled with vast rice terraces.
Day 4: Munduk – Licin (Java)
After breakfast, we drive via the winding roads of the Munduk Ngadang and Aya mountains through the middle part of Bali towards the coastal road and then cross to Java in one hour by ferry. After lunch we leave the main road. We ride to the foot of the volcanic mountain Kawah Ijen. Next, we ride through the mountainous area along beautiful rice terraces and follow surprising dirt paths through small villages. In addition to rice, vegetables and fruit are also grown in this region. We will visit a coffee plantation where the famous “coffee Luwak” is cultivated. Tonight we sleep in Licin Desa Banyuwangi, a cosy resort with a pool and mountain views.
Day 5: Licin - Kalibaru
Today we will probably be woken up by the sounds of animals. We enjoy views of the East Java coastline. The ride goes through colonial plantations which used to be set up by the Dutch occupiers and are still almost intact. We follow many small paths and roads next to the plantations and can decide the difficulty of riding today. Tonight we will stay in Kalibaru. We sleep in beautiful and clean cottages on a spacious landscaped park with a large swimming pool and restaurant.
Day 6: Kalibaru - Jember
Pretty soon we leave the main road and drive up the plantations through the mountainous area of Gumitir. Depending on the weather, some of the trails are challenging. We drive through abandoned forests with magnificent views of the valley. At this plantation, rubber is still grown and processed on a small scale. We drive deeper into the jungle and the trails get narrower and narrower until we arrive at a small wooden bridge that takes us across the river. After lunch we drive again through various rubber and sugar cane plantations towards Jember. Jember is the capital of East Java and has more than 300,000 inhabitants. It is an authentic Indonesian city where few Western tourists come. Until late in the evening there is a lively market "Pasar Malam" for vegetables and meat. In the central park " Alun Alun" are several warungs ( eateries) where simple, but good food can be eaten. We spend the night in a modern hotel with swimming pool on the roof.
Day 7: Jember – Cemaralawang (Bromo volcano)
We leave Jember and ride south towards the southern coast of East Java. In Teluk Love we stop to drink a cup of coffee. Near Teluk Love is a beautiful beach where families seek entertainment in the weekends. Next, we ride to the West via paddy fields and old colonial plantations where the old railway line is still situated to transport the crops of the country. We will follow this old railway line and ride through small villages to Lumajang.
This city is a lot smaller than Jember, however if you ride through it you will notice that everything is happening around the main streets. If you take a side street you immediately leave the town and are in the rice fields. After a local lunch we proceed our trip towards the active volcano Bromo. We leave Lumajang and ride following an unknown secondary road to the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. Towards the top the temperature is fresher and the scenery is increasingly more impressive. The changing weather has a great influence on these mountains and it can sometimes be warm and then all of a sudden cold. After we reach the top, we dive back from 2300 metres to 8 to 10 kilometres around the volcano Bromo. Our motorbikes trudge to get to the other side to our hotel. As the hotel is close to the “volcanic playground” the rest of the day we can take the motorbike to go to the edge of the crater or to peer into it. We spend the night in Cemaralawang in a simple hotel with good beds and a view of the volcano Bromo.
Day 8: Cemaralawang - Jember
Optionally you can go on an early morning trip to see the fantastic sunrise on the Bromo volcano and mount Seneru. You will start at 4 AM, and a 4 × 4 will pick you up and ride on the sand surface to 2700 metres to see the sunrise. After breakfast we have an adventurous ride through the sandy plain to the other side of the volcano to descend towards Lumajang. When leaving the city, we ride through small roads and various villages and finally ride back along old colonial plantations to follow the old railway. After lunch we ride off road along plantations on the foot of the mountain Argapura. We ride through wooded areas which can be challenging if wet from rain. We return to the hotel in Jember wherewe stayed 2 nights ago.
Day 9: Jember - Banyuwangi[Rv1]
Today we ride on paved and unpaved roads to the northern entrance of the National Park Kawah Ijen. We ride along coffee plantations where the Arabica coffee is grown for Albert Heijn, Nespresso and many other large companies. The famous and expensive “Luwak” coffee is also produced here. We spend the night in Banyuwangi hotel resort with a pool directly on the coastline.
Day 10: Banyuwangi – Lovina
After the extensive breakfast we ride 10 minutes to the ferry that takes us back to Bali. Then we will turn off quite quickly to the north of this tropical island. Riding first along the Taman National Park and then via the coastal road with beautiful views to Lombok with its volcanic mountain of almost 3,800 meters. We will arrive early in the afternoon. This is a short trip on an easy road today.
We spend the night in Lovina, a small-scale tourist village where some foreigners also have their homes because the place has still remained friendly and authentic. Our hotel is not far from the sea and also has a pool which gives you a very holiday feeling when you relax with a bintang (local beer).
Day 11: Lovina – Sanur
Our last riding day, but certainly not the least because we ride through various villages and vast rice fields / terraces to the highest mountain in Bali, the volcanic Gunung Agung with its highest point of more than 3,000 meters. We ride to Kintamani, a place at 1,350 meters with a view not only of Mount Gunung Agung but also of the volcanic mountain and Lake Batur. We will make a steep descent to get into the old crater and then ride around in the volcanic black sand. There are also villages here because the black volcanic sand is very well suited to make black stones that are used to build temples.
Then after lunch we will ride towards Sanur but we do this via Sidemen, a breathtaking environment of rice terraces and small villages where time still stands still.
The last part will be on the main road, which is sometimes busy and hectic.
The last night of this trip we stay at a hotel on the beach which has a swimming pool and many restaurants nearby - the perfect end to an adventurous trip.
Day 12: Sanur – departure
You have to pack your suitcase again and you can do some last shopping. Most flights leave in the afternoon, so you can relax on the beach or at the pool. Our tour leader brings you back to the airport.
