Diwali is one of the most important festivals in the Hindu calendar. We invite you to take part in the final celebrations in the villages with the locals. Over 16 days, you'll discover the history and culture of Maharashtra, one of India's less-touristy regions, visiting wonders listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. For 3 evenings in a row, you'll have the chance to celebrate Diwali with the local people. You'll dance in Bogud Jalgaon, light candles in Ambad, or watch traditional dances in Shendurvara.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Mumbai, pick-up in the afternoon, welcome and installation at the hotel. Short visit to Colaba.
Day 2: Visit the temples of the town of Wai.
Day 3: Transfer to Kolhapur. Visit the Ranlaka lake.
Day 4: Visit to Kolhapur, palaces, old town, and temples.
Day 5: Visit to Phaltan
Day 6: Visit to Jejuri temple.
Day 7: Visit Ahmednagar, palaces, mosques and tombs.
Day 8: Transfer to Aurangabad and visit a himro workshop.
Day 9: Participate in Bokud Jalgaon celebrations, visit the village, and interact with the locals.
Day 10: Visit the town of Ambad with its temples and ancient mansions. Participation in Deepotsav
Day 11: Visit to Paithan, museum, bird sanctuary, sari-making workshop, temples and ghats. Evening cultural show at Shendurwadha.
Day 12: Visit the UNESCO-listed Ellora Caves, a group of 36 caves containing temples and sacred places of 3 different religions.
Day 13: Visit Vetavadi fort and Anwar temple. In the evening, we spend the night in a small village to discover the local way of life.
Day 14: Visit to the Ajanta caves. These caves are world-famous for their cave paintings.
Day 15: Visit Daultabad Fort, once the capital of the Delhi Sultanate, and Khuldabad, the 14th-century capital of Sufism. We finish with a visit to the 17th-century capital of India, Aurangabad.
Day 16: Train to Mumbai
