Spending a night in a mountain cabin near Reykjavik can be a truly memorable experience. The cabin, located in a scenic and secluded area, allows you to disconnect from city life and reconnect with nature. After picking you up in the Reykjavik metropolitan area, we first stop at the "Hellisheiðarvirkjun" Geothermal Exhibition. This exhibition, located at one of the world's largest geothermal power stations, offers an in-depth look at Iceland's use of this clean and sustainable energy source.
Next, we take you on a 4x4 vehicle through the backroads of Reykjadalur Valley. After a 20-30 minute hike, you'll reach the valley and its hot springs, providing an incredible bathing experience that showcases Iceland's natural wonders.
After soaking in the hot springs, we continue off-roading through rugged terrain, including multiple river crossings, offering a unique and exhilarating perspective of Iceland's landscapes. We then arrive at our cabin for an overnight stay.
Staying in a mountain cabin offers a chance to escape everyday life and immerse yourself in Iceland's stunning landscapes. The cabin is simple and rustic, with basic amenities but comfortable accommodations to recharge after a day of exploring. We'll fire up the BBQ for a delicious mountain meal. In the evening, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and either the midnight sun in summer or the Northern Lights in winter. We'll take you to the backroads of Reykjadalur Valley. The hike to Reykjadalur Valley, which takes about 20-30 minutes, is relatively easy and leads to an incredible experience of bathing in hot springs. Once in the valley, you can enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot springs while taking in the beautiful surroundings. The water temperature can vary, so it's essential to test it before getting in. This adventure immerses you in Iceland's natural beauty and the restorative power of its hot springs.
We'll take you off-roading through the backroads of the surrounding area. Off-roading in modified 4x4 vehicles through Iceland's rivers and rugged terrain is a fantastic way to experience the country's natural beauty while enjoying an adventure of a lifetime.
We then arrive at the mountain hut were we fire up the BBQ and put some burgers on. Sleeping in a mountain cabin in the Icelandic highlands offers a unique connection with nature. The cabin is typically simple and rustic, with basic amenities, but provides comfortable accommodations to recharge after a long day of exploring. In the evenings, enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and either the midnight sun in summer or the Northern Lights in winter.
After a restful night, we'll have a simple breakfast and head back to Reykjavik, dropping you off at your preferred location. The ride back is relatively short, taking less than an hour.
