Description

MAYAN CITIES PLUS THE CARIBBEAN

Day 1

YAXHA

Welcome at the Mundo Maya Airport Transfer to your Hotel. Breakfast included

After receiving you at the airport, transfer to your hotel where you can leave your luggage and also have breakfast.

Today we will go on an adventure for 2 hours to take us to the Visitor Center of Yaxha, It will be a tour of approximately 3 hours walking along Mayan trails and Causeway, time to take photos and climb the permitted structures.

After our visit lunch, then return to your hotel.

Yaxhá - also known as Yaxha, Yax-ha and Yax-há - is an archaeological site and an ancient ceremonial center of the Mayan civilization located in northeastern Petén, Guatemala. It is located in the northeastern part of the department of Petén, in the municipalities of Flores and Melchor de Mencos.

It was the capital of an extensive territory that dominated the northeastern part of Petén, although it had very strong ties with the city of Tikal, Caracol, in Belize, and Calakmul in Mexico. It has monumental complexes with pyramidal temples, Acropolis, twin pyramid complexes, memorial complexes, ball courts, palaces and residential complexes.

Day 2

TIKAL

Today we will visit the City of the Ancient Mayans it will take us 1 hour and 30 minutes to get there from our Hotel.

Start of the adventure walking throughout the City of Tikal along original Mayan paths and causeway, depending on our luck we can see a lot of birds and monkeys after our visit, we will have one of the best lunches in the area.

Tikal was the capital of a conquest state that became one of the most powerful kingdoms of the ancient Maya. Though monumental architecture at the site dates back as far as the 4th century BC, Tikal reached its apogee during the Classic Period c. 200 to 900. During this time, the city dominated much of the Maya region politically, economically, and militarily, while interacting with areas throughout Mesoamerica such as the great metropolis of Teotihuacan in the distant Valley of Mexico.

Day 3

FORES TO RIO DULCE PLUS LIVINGSTON

Today we will leave the Mayan cities to reach Río Dulce for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to get there. Upon arrival time to have our Lunch.

Then we take a speed boat for 1 hour to get to our Hotel on Livingston Island.

Free afternoon to walk around the place.

The river begins at the point where it flows out of Lake Izabal. At the entrance to the river there is a small Spanish colonial fort, the Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, built to stop pirates entering the lake from the Caribbean when this part of Central America was an important shipping staging point.

Livingston is a town, with a population of 17,923 (2018 census), in Izabal Department, eastern Guatemala, at the mouth of the Río Dulce at the Gulf of Honduras. The town serves as the municipal seat of the municipality of the same name. It was Guatemala's main port on the Caribbean Sea before the construction of nearby Puerto Barrios.

Livingston is noted for its mix of Garífuna, Afro-Caribbean, Maya and Ladino people and culture. In recent decades Livingston has developed a large tourist industry.

Today a completely different day awaits us. Come prepared with your shorts, sandals, sunscreen, cap or hat.

Siete Altares is a beautiful natural destination located in the municipality of Livingston, department of Izabal, in Guatemala. Mainly, its attraction lies in the beautiful waterfalls and pools that form among nature, after visiting seven altars we continued to Playa Blanca, another incredible place.

Playa Blanca stands out as one of the exceptional beaches for its clear sand and crystal clear waters. All construction activity is restricted in the area so there are no hotels or restaurants, which remains a sanctuary in its natural state.
