Description
Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and majestic monuments of the pharaohs, such as the Pyramids of Giza & the Great Sphinx. On this day tour, you'll learn more about the history of Egypt, as I talk about the pyramids and other ancient sites, enjoying a great excursion to Giza & Saqqara and having a close look at the Great Sphinx, the legendary guardian that stands by the huge funeral complex with its lion body and the head of king Chephren. Believe it or not, it was carved out of a single piece of rock!
On the other hand, Memphis, which was founded by King Menes, and was the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom, was considered to be a center of rule and culture for over 3000 years the first capital of Egypt.
Also, did you know that the Pyramid of Djoser is the world's oldest still-standing major stone structure?
As an Egyptology college graduate with a BA in Ancient Egypt's history, I'll be able to provide expert insights into all the places we'll visit on this tour, and answer any questions
