Day 1 : Giza pyramids Sakkara and Memphis
Visit the Giza pyramids area in an air-conditioned van. The Egyptologist will provide you with all the history of the area, the 9 pyramids of the kings, queens, and princesses, the sphinx, and the valley temple of mummification. You will have enough time for photography on different sides, and extra options such as entering one of the pyramids, visiting the sun boat museum, or riding a camel around the area.
Your next stop is Sakkara, home of Egypt's oldest pyramid, built-in 2800 B.C. Your guide will provide a brief history of the famous Step Pyramid and you will have free time to walk around and visit the painted tombs of the nobles
Memphis is your last destination to visit the open-air museum of the city. In Memphis, you will see the second-largest Sphinx in Egypt, known as the alabaster Sphinx, the lying colossus of Ramses II that is a masterpiece and a strong proof of how Egyptian sculpture reached its peak. You will also see many more monuments dug in this great city. Memphis was the first capital city of Egypt after the unity of the Southern and Northern kingdoms. Enjoy all the beautiful monuments on display in the open museum.
Day 2 : Cairo city tour
The museum, which was opened in 1901, houses thousands of monuments and artifacts. You will be overwhelmed by what you see around you: statues of the great pharaohs, golden treasures, tools, mummies, and much more. You will spend a wonderful time moving among the treasures of King Tut Ankh Amun. Although, you need weeks and weeks to cover everything in this huge building, however, your guide will explain with passion the highlights and must-see pieces. Then you will enjoy free time to go and browse here and there.
Visit the Citadel of Saladin, a 12th-century fortress. Inside the citadel; you will go into the Alabaster mosque. Built-in 1830, the mosque was designed by a Turkish architect, who followed the same style as the Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmed in Istanbul. Your guide will explain the main elements of the mosque and basic Islamic principles. Enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the top.
Enjoy some free time at Khan El Khalili, the biggest market in Cairo. In Khan el Khalili bazaar, you will enjoy strolling through the maze of streets and bargain for a souvenir of your trip to Egypt. You can spend some time having a local drink in one of the oldest Coffee shops in Cairo El Fishawy (1763).
