Otavalo, also known as San Luis de Otavalo, is an Ecuadorian city; the cantonal capital of the Otavalo Canton, as well as the second largest and most populated city in the Province of Imbabura.

It is located north of the Inter-Andean Region of Ecuador, in the basin of the Chota River, crossed by the Tejar River, at an altitude of 2,550 meters above sea level and with an Andean climate of 16 °C on average.

Depart from your hotel in Quito in the morning, to take you along the Pan-American Highway North towards Cayambe. Our guide will make the first stop so that passengers can try the delicious Cayambe biscuits, a type of cookie or wheat bread cooked in a clay oven accompanied with traditional cheese. Then they will make a brief stop in Miralago to admire the wonderful views of Lake San Pablo. The tour will continue to Otavalo, where the Otavaleños set up a market where barter is used. The market houses a variety of different artisanal objects. Afterward, you will visit the community of Peguche where you will learn how alpaca textiles and fabrics and Andean musical instruments are made, then we will visit the magical town of Cotacachi where Ecuadorian leather garments are made and where we will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. (If time permits, the Cuicocha lagoon will be visited)
