Overview
Wine Tour Peljesac is an unforgettable experience for all wine lovers. If you’re a wine enthusiast, don’t miss the chance to visit Peljesac, famous for producing some of Croatia’s best red wines, complemented with beautiful white wines.
Highlights
Description
Peljesac is the second largest Croatian peninsula, located 45 minutes drive from Dubrovnik. Some of the best red wines in Croatia are produced in Peljesac. Grapes from Peljesac vineyards are getting a huge amount of sugar because of triple insolation, from the Sun, from the sea, and from the hills. Specific vineyard locations don't allow machines, so everything is hand-made. The results of nature and hard work are excellent. It's a specific feeling to enjoy some wonderful wines and beautiful landscapes of Peljesac vineyards. You’ll enjoy guided wine tasting in three wineries renowned for their exceptional wines and long-standing family traditions, without the crowds.
What's included
Itinerary
Firstly, we will stop at Janjina Winery. It is a small establishment with a history of producing native Plavac mali and Rukatac. Here, you’ll be captivated by their selection of great wines and fantastic tasting experience. Indulge in their liqueurs, brandy, vinegar, and olive oil.
Secondly, we will stop at Potomje Winery. It is close to the steep slopes of vineyards on Peljesac’s south side. They take Plavac mali grapes exclusively from their plantations in Postup and Dingac, subsequently producing top-quality wines in limited quantities that are difficult to find elsewhere.
Thirdly, we will stop at Boljenovici. It is run by third-generation wine producers, creating a wine with a distinct identity and autochthonism. Their robust fruit-flavored wine is imbued with aromas typical of the variety and land it grows on. Sample their different liqueurs, too.
Finally, we shall visit the historic town of Ston. This charming medieval town is renowned for its ancient salt pans and Europe’s longest fortification wall.
Note: due to availability, there may be a different schedule for visiting the wineries.
During staying at Peljesac we warmly recommend you visit one of the best restaurants in the whole area. Have a delicious lunch in a restaurant with fresh fish, lobsters, mussels, and other seafood.
