Start with a walk along the narrow gate walls for a great overview of this walled city with stunning views of red rooftops, the Adriatic Sea, and nearby islands.
Back down on street level you will canvass this pedestrian-friendly city (no cars are allowed) and see its highlights, including Onofrio's Fountain, St. Blaise's Church, Rector's Palace, and the Franciscan Monastery. While here, be sure to watch your footing on the marble streets of the Stradun, or Main Street, and talk up the vendors in the open-air Green Market.
