Itinerary
DAY 1: DUBROVNIK TO IPAN
After meeting your Sail Trip Manager and fellow travelers, we set sail for the Elaphiti Islands, a small archipelago famous for its pristine scenery and secluded beaches. Enjoy lunch with new friends as we sail, before anchoring nearby Priježba Beach for 360 views of the Adriatic sea - enjoy the first of many swims stops during the week! The entire population of the thirteen Elaphiti islands is less than a thousand people. Our port for the evening is ipan, the largest of these islands. Tonight we get to know each other over an included onboard barbecue of local grilled meats and salads and raise a toast as the sun sets on our first day together.
Included: Lunch, BBQ dinner.
DAY 2: IPAN TO MLJET
After a short morning sail, we arrive at anchor off the island of Mljet and get used to your morning ritual of diving into that crystal blue water. We will enjoy lunch on board before heading to the port of Pomena as well as the stunning Mljet National Park. Here your entrance to the park is included and we spend a leisurely afternoon exploring the two saltwater lakes surrounded by lush pine forest. You have the option to cycle, kayak, or even head to the small island Monastery of St Mary. Head to one of the local eateries tonight, and later, toast another sensational sunset from the top deck.
Included: Breakfast, lunch, entrance to Mljet National Park.
DAY 3: MLJET TO KORČULA
Today we continue north to the island of Korčula, the birthplace of the famous explorer Marco Polo. Enjoy a leisurely lunch on board and plenty of time to swim in one of the beautiful bays near to Korčula town. After an orientation of the Old Town, spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the markets and jewelry stores, or enjoy a coffee by the water with stunning views across to the mountains of the Pelješac Peninsula. Korčula is famous for wine, and here is the perfect place to learn a little about some of the famous Croatian grapes over a wine tasting. Finishing the day with a sunset cocktail up high in part of the town’s medieval fortifications is simply stunning.
Included: Breakfast, lunch.
DAY 4: KORČULA TO HVAR TOWN
This morning we sail along the coast of Hvar island and enjoy the special views of secluded bays, small hillside wineries, and rocky cliffs. Enjoy a beautiful swim stop at anchor off the Pakleni Islands, before a water taxi picks us up and takes us to explore the well-retained and prestigious Hvar town. This old Venetian town was once an important military stronghold. This afternoon you have the opportunity to visit the medieval panjola Fortress, which has watched over the town since the 13th century and enjoy the postcard views of the town and surrounding islands. Enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail with a view at one of Hvar’s many waterfront bars and indulge in some of Croatia’s best nightlife as this buzzing town comes alive.
Included: Breakfast, lunch, water taxi to Hvar.
DAY 5: HVAR TO JELSA
Today we sail around the north of the island of Hvar, to our next stop at Jelsa. We will enjoy a swim and lunch at anchor, before cruising to our port for the night. This bustling town was once a significant center for shipbuilding and trade, and from here the best wines, olive oils, and dried fish from Hvar would make their way around Europe. Surrounded by lush and fertile forests and fields, Jelsa is one of the best places to try truly fantastic local produce modern-day. This evening we head to a winery and organic farm on the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Stari Grad Plain. Here we enjoy an included olive oil and wine tasting, so you can genuinely acknowledge the natural beauty of the Hvar island. Back in town, spend a relaxed evening at one of the many excellent restaurants or bars.
Included: Breakfast, lunch, wine, and olive oil tasting.
DAY 6: JELSA TO PUČI ĆA VIA ZLATNI RAT
This morning, we set sail to the coast of Brač, stopping for a morning swim off the famous Zlatni Rat or ‘Golden Horn’. One of the most recognizable beaches on the Dalmatian Coastline, Zlatni Rat pokes out like a tongue of pebbles into the sea, continuously changing shape due to the waves, wind, and sea currents. We spend the afternoon sailing around Brač to the town of Pučišća, with plenty of time to explore our port for the night. Set at the end of a beautiful, natural bay, Pučišća was once voted one of Europe’s Prettiest Towns! Pučišća boasts some of the purest and whitest stone in Europe. As well as being used for most of the local buildings, this famous stone was also used to build Diocletian’s Palace in Split, and the White House in Washington DC! Tonight you have the option to join in the Captain’s Dinner on board.
Included: Breakfast, lunch.
DAY 7: PUČI ĆA TO SPLIT
We sail back to the mainland today, and after our final dip in the Adriatic, arrive at the Port of Split. Beginning life as a palace for the Roman Emperor Diocletian, these days Split is Croatia’s second-largest city, and is where the locals live, work and play. Within the ancient palace walls, there is a treasure trove of restaurants, bars, and shops to be explored. Maybe try some local seafood for dinner at one of the city’s excellent waterfront eateries. Tonight is our final night together, and we will hit the town for a final drink.
Included: Breakfast, lunch.
DAY 8: SPLIT
