Overview
Schönbrunn Palace is the symbol of Habsburgs Austria. To this day, its imperial yellow walls bear witness to the splendor of a great empire and to imperial life. Intrigues, romances and affairs but also splendid festivities and dramatic decisions took place within these walls.

Due to its long and eventful history, Schönbrunn Palace is one of the most important cultural monuments in Austria.
The whole building glows with the warmth of the attractive shade of color which is described as "Maria-Theresia-yellow". The main block is made up of three sections with blend together with the two wings into a woinderfully harmonious piece of architecture.
The crowning glory of the interior is the Great Gallery, a long hall with eleven enoumous windows, glorified by the magnificience of the chandeliers of gilded wood. One cannot see enough of the glittering mouldings, whr wall candelabras and the bronze chandeliers. The eye wanders to the ceiling and the blue frescoed heaven of the famous Italian painter Gugliemi.
Empress Maria Theresa's reign (1740 - 1780) meant the most glorious era for Schönbrunn.
During our highlight tour, our expert, the austriagiuide® WOLFGANG, will present the most beautiful and impressive rooms, mainly the baroque state rooms.
We will also visit parts of the extensive park grounds with a glimpse of the Gloriette and the oldest zoo in the world with you. Stories, anecdotes and secrets about the Habsburgs are an essential part of this special tour.
The tour could end with a snack at the Cafe Residenz, with Melange and Sacher Cake, or an apple strudel show in the Hofbackstube (Imperial Bakery) with tasting.
