Teno Mountains, located in the northwest of Tenerife, are part of that nature which offers a variety of interesting hikes on Tenerife. Hiking trails are interestingly adventurous and one can take a look of lush green fields located nearby. From three volcanic formations which gave rise to Tenerife, Canary Island, one is related to these mountains. Lighthouses of Tenerife Island can be easily seen while climbing up the mountains having a height of approximately 800 meters.
The geological genesis of the Teno Mountains is defined by narrow canyons and steep rock formations. Life is tough here owing to which settlements are few in this area. Farmers are still living in old primitive Canarian ways. Except for the road b/w Santiago del Teide and Masca, settlements in the Teno Mountains can be reached only via narrow paths and donkey rides. These paths are also used by the Tenerife’s natives. Hikers throng this area around the year.
