Welcome to Playa de Las Teresitas - one of the finest beaches, located in the north of Tenerife. It is an artificial white sand beach. Around 270,000 tons of white sand was transported in 1973 from Western Sahara, also called Spanish Sahara. Previously, there were mostly rocks and strips of black sand. In 1998, 2800 tonnes of more sand from Western Sahara was shifted to fill the places where sand had been lost in the first 25 years.
The beach extends up to 1.5 km in length along the coast. Palm trees, sea breeze, and the clam water provide a perfect look for mental peace. View of the sandy beach is so enchanting that it remains busy for most of the times due to a large number of masses coming to have a refreshing sunbath. It won’t be an exaggeration to say that Playa de Las Teresitas is the most popular beach in the Canary Islands. Reality show Geordie Shore has chosen this place as a promotional spot for its third season. An important paleontological site of Quaternary, a submarine reservoir in the submerged beach is another wonderful spot to enjoy nature.
