Luon Cave - anyone aspiring to travel to Halong Bay cannot complete his trip until and unless he will visit this cave as it is regarded as the must-see attraction by national and international visitors. Exploring the Luon Cave is alike traveling under the limestone mountain and this is why it is named Luon cave by the locals. Around 30.0 VND is the entrance fee paid at the gate but this price is quite low given the beauty and nature of this mysterious site.
Basically the Luon Cave is at a distance of about 14 Km from the south Bai Chay in the Bo Hon Island. According to some estimation, it is considered as one of the biggest cave having an incredible length of 60 meters and width of 4 meters. The ceiling of cave ranges from 2.5 to 4 meters. Hence, it can be accessed only via kayak or small boat.
The most significant factor making this cave worth visiting is the combination of beautiful green water of the sea and the Limestone Mountains. Some other factors which have an equal role in making this cave distinguished from all others are that brackish water of cave is surrounded by four mountainsides, with an approximate width of 1 km2. Tourists are attracted towards the miraculous and amazing stalactites. As you set foot on these geological formations, you seems to be lost in eye catching imagination of paradise.
Heaven Gate and Turtle Island are located in front of the cave and the tourists can enjoy an opportunity to summit steep cliffs. Moreover, clear water just in front of the bow shaped gate enchants you. In short, this cave is one of the most stunning point in the majestic Halong Bay.
The main logic behind that why the cave is named as Luon Cave is quite interesting. The blue water lake flows directly into the sea through a tunnel.
