Everest Base Camp trek is counted among the most famous trekking routes, located in the Himalayas and thousands of visitors come here. Aspirants fly to Lukla from Kathmandu before formally starting their trekking. There is no compact road to from Kathmandu to Lukla due to which majority opt the by the air route.
It was estimated in 2015 that almost 40,000 people do the trekking per year from Lukla to Nepal Everest Base camp. Lukla to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar crossing the valley of Dudh Kosi takes almost 2 days. After reaching here, one-day adaptation is done by the hikers. Then the journey is continued towards Dingboche. And it took almost two days to Everest base camp moving through Mt. Pumori & Gorakshep. An earthquake in 2015 triggered an avalanche on Pumori which went through base camp. Around 19 people found dead. A number of the trails leading to Everest Base camp had been deteriorated by the earthquake. It took almost 12 days to reach the base camp.
