These big dunes have an organic origin since they come from the disintegration and also pulverization of mollusc and also bivalve coverings as well as other aquatic organisms with an inflexible exterior skeleton. It has an area of more than 2,600 ha, all covered with fine white sand and dunes, and also surrounds the eastern shore of north Fuerteventura, where there are long coastlines with turquoise water. Dunes of Corralejo is a Natural Park and it is very easy to gain access here considering that the road that attaches Puerto del Rosario with Corralejo (FV-1). On this road it is possible to park your car and also observe sitting the large dunes around this location, along with several of the most beautiful beaches of the island.
