Dinh and Le Temples were built to showcase the greatness of Vietnamese people. Two Vietnamese King Dinh Tien Hoang and Le Dai Dinh built this temple in the 10th century. Ninh Binh remained the capital of Vietnam for many years and they chose this place in order to worship the contributions of two emperors.

General Dinh Bo Linh reunified the whole county in 968 after vindicating the local feudal lords and reigned over the throne. However, the king died just after a year in 979. His Queen transferred the throne to the then commander in chief Le Hoan in the face of the greater threat of aggression that the country was facing at that time. Le Hoan then ruled over the throne and defeated all the foreign warring forces in a great war. He continues to rule the throne till 1009 but then the throne was transferred to Ly Cong Uan. Ly Cong Uan is considered the founder of the Ly Dynasty. The capital was transferred to Thang Long.

Dinh and Le Temples, two temples that were built were entirely dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang and the other King Le Hoan. The temple located in village Yen Trung is dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang. While the other temple which is in Yen Ha village is in the memory of King Le Hoan. Distance between both the temples is approximately 500 meters. As you come out of the temple of King Dinh Tien Hoang, there is a stone pillar bearing Chinese traits Bac Mon Toa Thuoc. The courtyard behind the entrance is the royal kind of supported by two big pillars and two stone unicorns. Temples own three houses which areas: Main Shrine, Ceremonial House and the Intermediate House. King Dinh Tien is displayed by a bronze statue.

One can locate the worship tablets and other offspring of the generals. Some other things in the temple associated with King Le Dai Harm comprised of worshipping tablets of Queen Duong Van Nga, the successor of King Le Hoan and of the King Le Long Dinh. Temples follow the architectural patterns of the kind of Noi Cong Ngoai Quoc. All these constructions were renovated back in 1607 and 1894.
