Experience culture, market, nightlife, lifestyle, and the day to day lives of the Nigerian people.

This tour will cover three major states in Nigeria starting from Lagos state. On this 8 day tour, visit the main commercial city of Lagos, the slave town of Badagry; purchase Batik fabrics in Itokun market.

From Lagos, we would leave for Abeokuta in Ogun state and also visit Ibadan in Oyo state Nigeria.

We shall visit national parks, museums, markets and old slavery, and British colonial settlements in Nigeria.

Itinerary


  1. Visited Places:

Day 1: Lagos Pick you up from your hotel in Lagos for a quick run through Lagos mainland Makoko village and off to the island to relish the Lekki conservation center, the Lekki craft market, the national museum, and Nike art gallery. O/N at your hotel.

Day 2: Lagos-Abeokuta On this day we shall drive from Lagos to Abeokuta to see the wonder Olumo rock and learn about the history of the Egba Yoruba people; we shall move onward to the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library. A return trip to Lagos and overnight at your hotel.

Day 3: Lagos--Badagry Leave for Badagry very early to beat traffic. We shall visit the Badagry slave Museum of History, the slave root, point of no return, and the house of a former slave returnee who later became a slave merchant, the first story building in Nigeria, whispering palm resort. a return trip back to the island. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 4: Ekpe fish market Lagos Today's tour will take us to the Epe fish market where we will experience the day to day activity of this local market that specializes in the buying and selling of a variety of fishes. O/N at your hotel.

Day 5: Lagos Jaekel House The Jaekel House is a colonial mansion in Ebute Metta, Lagos, Nigeria. The house was built in 1898 on a large expanse of landscaped land and named after the late Francis Jaekel OBE, a former superintendent of the Nigerian Railway Corporation who retired in the 1970s after almost three decades of active service. Jaekl Elouse was formally the residence of the General Manager and was later converted to a senior staff rest house. The building has been renovated and restored by professor John Godwin in collaboration with the Railway Corporation in 2010. The building is now a “mini-museum” showcasing photographic archives dating from the 1940s through to 1970s of personalities, places, historical events in pre-and post-independent Nigeria and houses artifacts (tools, equipment, attires, pictures, etc) of the old Railway Corporation. Day 6: Lagos-- Ibadan- The University of Ibadan Zoological Garden and Nature Park, NATIONAL MUSEUM IBADAN, IITA FOREST RESERVE: Visit the Irefin palace to learn more about the beautiful history of the Ibadan people. The palace was built in 1902 and is made up of 185 rooms. There are people who still live in Irefin Palace to date. Also, explore the Ggbaji fabrics market in Ibadan. O/N at your hotel.

Day 7: Today we shall visit the Omu resort or the Lufasi national park O/N at your hotel.

Day 8: Relax at the Inagbe resort with cool Nigeria music/entertainment and later drop off for onward departure.
